This was one
of our hardest but most rewarding projects of 2000!
The project
ran for just over three months and involved working with six students
from Grades 4-6 to design and build a Web site for the school.
The site had
to be informative but not too cluttered, capture the fun and energy
of the school yet still be professional, and feature the children's
artwork.
Tasks included:
- determining the school's needs of a website
- providing reference sites for the school to review
- explaining the Web development process
- providing a range of page layouts and design elements for the
children to choose from
- scanning and manipulating photos
- building
the pages, including online calendars
- devising and embedding a game within the site
- arranging to get the site onto the education network.
As Highlands
Primary School is a small rural public school with very limited
budget, Consonant donated its services.
